Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest nonprofit health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Since, 1949, LLS has been dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
This organization is meaningful to Deborah for two very special reasons. In 1998, Deborah’s 11 year old daughter, Brenn, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After receiving rounds of chemotherapy and weeks of radiation, this story had a happy ending as Brenn has been cancer free since 1999. However, another personal story did not have such an ending. After battling Multiple Myeloma for 4 years, Deborah’s older brother, David, passed away in 2005, at age 52. It is Deborah’s desire to support an organization whose goal is to wipe out blood cancers from the face of the earth. We’re a long way away…but every bit helps.
